M. Joyce Hamershock
May 3, 1936 - May 25, 2020

(Mary) Joyce Hamershock, of Lower Gwynedd, PA died peacefully on Monday, May 25, 2020, at Park Creek Place in Horsham, PA. She was 84 years old.

Born in Philadelphia, Joyce was the daughter of the late Richard and Margaret (McMahon) Way.

Joyce was a graduate of Ambler High School, Class of 1954. She worked as a secretary for Ambler Borough for over 20 years. Joyce then worked for Lower Gwynedd Township for over 20 years, prior to her retirement in 2014.

Mrs. Hamershock was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Ambler. She was an associate member of the Montgomery County F.O.P. Lodge 14. She was an avid reader and volunteered her time with the German Shepherd Rescue of Southeastern Pennsylvania. Joyce always found peace and tranquility along the Georgian Bay, Parry Sound, Ontario, where she vacationed for many years.

Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband Dr. Thomas E. Hamershock in 2003. She is the dear mother of Stephen T. Hamershock of Hatfield, PA, and Barbara J. Hamershock of Lower Gwynedd PA. She also is survived by her beloved kitty Callie and her granddog Daisy.

Joyce's Funeral Service and interment will be held privately at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ambler. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank Dr. Jennifer Winn and nurses of Fox Chase Cancer Center, and all the staff at Park Creek Place. Your care and compassion was above and beyond.
