David Bryant, 79 of Collins, IA passed away Thursday, May 28, 2020 at his residence. Private graveside services will be Monday, June 1, 2020 at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown. Online condolences may be sent to www.andersonfhs.com
David, the son of Julius and Dorothy (Brown) Bryant, was born August 5, 1940 in Marshalltown and was raised on a farm on Morman Ridge outside of Albion. He attended Minerva schools and later Clemons High School. As a self-employed business owner, David provided heavy equipment services including asphalt and blacktop paving, dirt moving and hauling, owner/operator trucking, and other heavy hauling. David was very mechanically inclined and was also a talented auto body painter. David's hobbies included fishing, auto refurbishing, auto racing, and all kinds of motor sports as a participant and he rarely missed a televised Nascar race.
David was a free spirit with a diverse group of friends and acquaintances and he found humor in life experiences. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a brother-in-law. David will be remembered by a sister, a sister-in-law, his children, nieces and nephews, and friends. Those sharing in the loss of David are encouraged to honor him by spending an hour in the past-time that you loved sharing with him.
