"Alonzo and I were coworkers at White Pine Assisted Living in Inver Grove Heights in 2010. The residents loved him, he went above and beyond for them and the staff. He always had a positive outlook and kept our morale high. We were friends and he was always there for me. I will never forget the day in 2013 I moved to Hibbing MN to attend there LPN to RN program. I called him and told him I was struggling and was going to resign from the program. He filled me with hope, and the positivity I needed to continue. I honestly think I would of withdrew if it wasn't for his encouragement and belief in me. We stayed in touch off and on, and just the other day he came to my mind, I told myself I need to contact him. My heart sank when I saw the happy heavenly birthday on his FB account. No!!! Now I can't tell him goodbye, he knew I loved him we always shared that at the end of our conversations. My heart is heavy knowing he is no longer with us, but I believe his spirit is, and that is why he entered my thoughts! I love you brother you were a true gentleman. RIP Alonzo we love you. "My name is Mitch and I hired him as a delivery driver in west St. Paul a few years back. He was a good man, he always worked hard, and didn?t give up. He always did the right thing. I remember when I was running that location a few years back, my truck did not start. It had to have been 30 below zero- he stood outside with me for a good twenty minutes and helped jump start my car. I will always remember Alonzo as a person who was selfless and always gave me advice on the most important things in life. That day I hired him at west St. Paul I didn?t just hire an employee, I hired someone who is a shining example of what each of us should live up to."
