George H. Abbas Jr.
April 5, 1934 - June 7, 2020

George H. Abbas Jr., 86, of Hampton, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2020, at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton. He was born April 5, 1934, in rural Faulkner, Iowa, to George and Ida Abbas.

George graduated from Geneva High School. He was united in marriage to Donna L. Smith on February 10, 1957, in rural Geneva. George served in the Iowa National Guard and was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in rural Geneva. He was always seen driving around in his red truck checking on the crops. George's three main loves and most important things to him were farming, family and faith.

George is survived by his wife Donna Abbas of Hampton; daughter Kristi (Phil) Hauser of Hampton; daughter Tami (Tom) Brass of Hampton; son Kevin (Judy) Abbas of Geneva; son Chad (Kim) Abbas of Cedar Falls; grandchildren Jill (Ryan) Harvey, Jennifer (Matt) Struck, Jayne (Matt) Becker, Tara (Mike) Pralle, Tanner Brass, Makayla Abbas, Michael Abbas and Mason Abbas; great-grandchildren Philip Harvey, Benjamin Harvey, Sam Struck, Ella Struck, Lily Becker, Lydia Becker Maddie Pralle, Maci Pralle and Tate Pralle; brother Bob (Ilene) Abbas of Hampton and sister-in-law Dorothy Abbas of Hampton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Edwin "Bud" Abbas, sisters Arlene Horner, Gertrude Himan, Lena Salven, Norma Palmer and a sister in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 11, 2020, at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in rural Geneva. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church on Thursday. Burial will take place in the St. Peter's United Church of Christ Cemetery. The Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home of Hampton is assisting George's family.
