Brenda Shipman
November 20, 1965 - June 19, 2020

Brenda Shipman, 54, of Coalville passed away Friday, June 19, 2020 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge after a courageous battle with leukemia.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. A visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Brenda is survived by her parents, Burdette and Karen (Williams) Shipman of Coalville; children, Randall (Crystal) Summers and Taylor Summers (Jeff) both of Belmond; siblings, Randy (Roxanne) of Fort Dodge, Mark (Holly) Shipman of Denton, TX, Cindy (Dave) Roberts of Harlingen, TX, and Kim (Joe) Kesterson of Denton, TX; grandson, Leo; and her dog, Hazel.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and her beloved dog, Harley.
Brenda Lee Shipman was born November 20, 1965 in Fort Dodge. She attended schools in Fort Dodge and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1984. She was united in marriage to Mitch Summers. To this union their children Randall and Taylor were born. The family made their home in Belmond. The couple later divorced. She later was united in marriage to Randy Hoffmeier. The couple divorced but still remained very close. Brenda worked various waitressing jobs in the area. She loved crafting and doing up her "special tree" to correspond with the coming holiday. Brenda was a great mentor and a dear friend to anyone who needed her. She was very giving and even gave her purse to a cousin that had mentioned that she loved it. She would give anyone anything that she could. It was hard to find someone who didn't love her. She will be deeply missed.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.

"I had went to okiboji with brenda and her mom and dad. We said we wanted to go walk around, yea we were gone for some time. Brenda fell in the mud and when we got back ,aunt karen and uncle burt asked what happened and brenda said that there was a dog chaising us... Well we didnt tell them that she was making out with a boy and fell down a hill. We never laughed so hard. Brenda i am sorry, i love you and will miss you."
