Mrs. Alma Watkins, 90 of Indianapolis, IN passed away on 06/17/2020

Alma Collins was born in Indianapolis, IN to Fair Brawley and Robert Collins, on May 27 1930 but was raised by her Stepfather William Brawley .
She attended Indianapolis Public Schools. She married Grover H Watkins Sr and to this union eight children were born. She was a Domestic worker in her early years and then worked for D.C. Heath Publishing Co. for 17 years retiring in 1993. Alma was a strong Christian women. She was a faithful member of The Church of the Living God #332, (Rhema Church of The Living God) for 39 years. She was an Usher, Adult Sunday School Teacher and first Mother of her Church. She was a willing worker and witness for Christ. Mom was a loving mother and displayed the love of God in raising her children. She was Mother and Grandmother to all of our Friends. Her kids called her "Tammy Tool Time" for her handyman skills. She enlarged her kitchen, converted a closet to a small bathroom and could do small electrical jobs and many other tasks. She was also a member of the women's ministries.

Alma Watkins is preceded in death by her Husband Grover H Watkins Sr, Son Thomas Watkins Sr, Daughter Jasmine Watkins and Grandson Anthony Watkins, Great Grandson Amonte Young

Alma Watkins is survived by children, Daughters, Aljean Watkins Porter, Gaynelle Watkins, Ruth Watkins, Gloria Marshall, Sylvia Watkins, and Son Grover Watkins Jr. (Rosie), and Sister Wilma Hillman of Kokomo, In. 11 Grandchildren, and 18 Great- Grandchildren. 1 Great-Great Grandson and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10:00a-12:00p Saturday June 27, 2020 at Crown Hill Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held immediately after visitation at 12:00p at Crown Hill Funeral Home officiated by Elder Donald Hubbard of Rhema Church of the Living God. Burial will follow at Flanner and Buchanan Floral Park Cemetery located at 425 N Holt Rd. Indianapolis, IN 46222
