"Oh Kathy and Joe and all the family, how can we find mere words to express our sympathy at this time of Troy's homegoing. Death may steal from us the ones we love but followers of Christ know the separation is only temporary. Because Jesus lives, we shall live also. I remember what a great get away to Canada our families had together. Troy was such a great fisherman and camp cook with his Dad. And we thank him for his music he left for us to enjoy and be encouraged by. We will miss Troy's earthly presence but know There's no better place than in his Saviors everlasting arms for eternity. God saw him getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around him and whispered "Come with Me" With tearful eyes we watched him suffer and saw him fade away. Although he was loved so dearly we could not make him stay. A golden heart stopped beating... once hard working hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove Only He knows whats for our best. We are so comforted to know we will see him in glory all new and ready to live fully for Christ forever in eternity. Thank you God for Troy's life here so well lived. Matthew 11:28 is real for him now! Come to me, all who are weary and heavy- laden, and I will give you rest. Matt.11:28.... In Jesus loving embrace, Don and Betty Richards "

"Coach Langos changed my life. He believed in me before I did. I?ll never forget what he did for me as a wrestler but more importantly as a man. He tried to teach me what it was to follow God but unfortunately I wasn?t ready to receive that gift. I?ll never forgot the mentor he was and how he never gave up on me finding the right path. I only regret I never got to share with him the strong faith I?ve developed over time and that I owe all that to him. Love you Goose! I?m a better man because of you! Jeff Jahnel "

"Karen and Bailey, I an so sorry to hear of Troy's passing. I have several great stories that included him as the centerpiece and I knew that he was beloved by many of his West students, including the girls soccer players that we worked together with. I know the road was not an easy one to travel, but I also know there were many joyful moments that he experienced with both of you along his journey. You both are in our thoughts. Dave, Ella and Samuel Rosenthal"

"Troy was a fine example of a truly godly man. I wholly agree with a statement from his book, Growing Up: "I take joy in the fact that I have been a stronger, more effective witness for God from my wheelchair than I ever was out of it." Now our dear brother, who always knew that "To live is Christ, to die is gain," he has gained the prize for which he was confident his whole adult life, to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. "

"As I know from my high school years. Mr. Langos is a positive person in my life. We got along. We laughed. And I learned. It hurts to hear of a mentor passing so soon. But his life will be remembered. High School was crazy....but mentors like Langos made it positive and fruitful. I have a message for Langos: Thank You for showing me compassion even if I'm not socially favored among my peers. Human compassion is what you showed me. I have grown as a person because of you. Thank You."

"So sorry to hear of Troy's passing! We went to elementary school together clear through Junior High until he transferred to Johnston. I was just cleaning out totes this past month and found all kinds of pictures through the years and then his last day at SEP. He was a great guy and I was lucky enough to run into him at a high school wrestling meet years ago in Iowa City. My thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family. Prayers of peace as he is no longer suffering. Amy Ferguson (Hansen)"
