Thomas Lew Huggett
November 8, 1947 - June 20, 2020

Thomas "Tom" Lew Huggett, born in Janesville, WI, November 8, 1947 died peacefully June 20, 2020 in Rochester, MN at the age of 72 with his family by his side following a courageous 3 year battle with cancer under Hospice Care at Mayo Clinic Rochester, MN.

Born in Wisconsin his family moved to Rochester, MN in 1957 where he grew up. He participated in track and cross country at John Marshall High School and RCTC and was very active in Boy Scouts. Tom was proud of his achievement of becoming an Eagle Scout. He attended college at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and obtained a B.S. in Business with Emphasis in Accounting.

Tom married Judy Esterby, of Cannon Falls, MN, in 1969. He was drafted into the United States Army 1971-1977, serving a portion of his term in Germany.

His career in finance began in Minneapolis, MN at Fairview Hospital, Fairview Southdale Hospital, and Methodist Hospital. In 1980 Tom moved with wife and children, Jennifer and Teresa, to Medford, WI where he was Vice President of Finance for Memorial Hospital of Taylor County until retirement.

Tom was an amazing Grandpa and enjoyed attending many sports and activity events to cheer for and support his 5 grandchildren.

Tom was an avid fisherman and golfer and enjoyed spending time in the outdoors. He enjoyed many trips to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area on canoe trip excursions and in Canada for fishing fly-ins with friend, Bill Flahave. Bill also introduced Tom to the sport of golf. They enjoyed various trips to northern Minnesota, Alabama and Hawaii further enjoying the sport. Tom avidly played golf during the summer season with a close group of friends in Medford, WI with early morning golf and senior tournament play.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy of Pine Island, his children Jennifer (Kevin) Therriault of Green Bay, WI and Teresa (Kevin) Erickson of Rochester, MN, 5 grandchildren, Ava and Will Therriault, Shawn, Cora and Kullen Erickson. Tom is survived by brother Michael Huggett of Plymouth, MN, sister Rebecca Chrones of Green Bay, WI, and brother Daryl Huggett of Woodbury, MN. He is also survived by many family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Chester and Ruth Huggett, and brother-in-law Thomas Chrones.

The family would like to thank the staff at Mayo Clinic (Eisenberg, Oncology, Palliative Care, and Hospice Care, and many others) for the wonderful, tender loving care through this time.

A private ceremony will be held with the family.
