Valentine J. Temrowski Jr.

Grosse Pointe Woods resident Valentine John Temrowski Jr., 62, died Tuesday, June 16, 2020. He was born May 31, 1958, in Highland Park, to Dr. Valentine J. and Marilyn Temrowski.

A graduate of Grosse Pointe South High School, Valentine earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and a juris doctorate degree from Detroit College of Law.

"I learned yesterday from the Michigan Bar Journal of Val's passing, and to his family I express my sincere condolences. Val and I served as law clerks together in Detroit during law school, and we became friends the day we met, sharing many interests, the greatest of which was probably not the law, but fishing! Indeed, Val was gentle, kind, thoughtful, and caring, and he will be surely missed, but we have his memory and were without question most fortunate to have known him. Robert E. "Rik" Prussing Carpinteria, CA"

"Earlier today I attended the funeral service for our cousin, Val Temrowski. It touched my heart in a very special way. Val was a "true, old fashioned gentleman". A very kind and gentile man , I don't think he had a mean bone in his body. As my brother John stated, he always took the time to talk and ask how the rest of the family was doing. I will miss him dearly. To his wife, his daughter and his three surviving sisters I say this: You can all be comforted by the fact that Val loved each of you very much and the true testament to his goodness and his character was evidenced by the strong showing of love and the outpouring of affection from all those whom he touched and loved so very much. His family knew him as "Little Val". I for one will never forget him and shall try daily to be as good a person as he was. Lee Roy H. Temrowski, Jr."

"Val was not only a cousin but a colleague as well. Whenever I would see Val in court, he always took time to stop, share greetings and inquire about the family. If asked by a Judge or court personnel if I was related to Val, they always expressed the highest regard for his character. Val will be missed by every life he touched. John Temrowski"

"Val and I became friends when our kids were riding at the Hunt Club. Although I spoke with him infrequently in recent years I?ll miss him . He was a man of honor and integrity as described in the obituary . I had great respect for him . Val was a person of strong intellect and a student of history . He had an innate sense of right and wrong and had a great sense of humor . He will be missed by those who were fortunate to have known him , especially his family who he cherished . We lost a good one . Bob and Kathy Garvey "

"I was extremely sorry to hear about Val?s sudden passing. I last saw him 4 yrs ago at a family gathering, and it was always special when Val showed up....Polished, , witty, warm, and engaging. We always said that we wished we lived closer. I?m sorry I cannot attend his visitation and funeral. I live in Maryland (and am actually having elective surgery on the 29 th). But my thoughts will he with you all as you lay Val to rest....Love and prayers from your cousin, Karen McLean Young"
