Jonathan E. Moses, age 57, passed away at Mary Greeley Medical Center on Tuesday, June 23, 2020. A visitation will be at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, June 27, 2020 with a funeral service to follow at 10:30 a.m. at Crossroad Baptist Church, 57011 U.S. HWY 30 (East of I-35), Ames, IA.
Jonathan Edward Moses was born on May 28, 1963 in Ames, IA to Edward and Hazel (DeVoll) Moses. He graduated from Ballard High School in 1982 and was a 1989 graduate of Faith Baptist Bible College, earning his degree to become a youth pastor.
Jonathan has been a resident of the Accura Healthcare Center for the last 5 years and became the "Farkle King" of the Accura community.
He is survived by his father, Edward Moses of Knoxville; siblings, Edward Moses III of Ames, Angeleen (John) Geddes of Osceola, Susan (Steven) Daniels of Story City and Mallika (Alan) Freeman of St. Charles, MO; nieces and nephew, Caleb Geddes, Emily Geddes, Emma Freeman and Rachel Freeman.
Jonathan was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Moses, and a baby brother.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of family.

"Jonathan loved going to church and especially loved greeting with us at the front doors. He wanted to shake everyone's hand. When we wrangled him into our car he said we had it "down to a science". He was almost always cheerful and enjoyed joking with us about lots if things, including being superheroes. Teresa was "The Mom", I was "Captain Obvious" and Jonathan was "The Flash" - not because of his speed, but because his pants would often be unfastened and would start to fall down when I would stand him up to move him between the car and his wheelchair! Jonathan was unfailingly hopeful. He always planned to pass his swallow test and planned to eventually walk again. He helped me be grateful for the many blessings I have, and the many ordinary things that I am able to do."
"Jonathan was a student of mine in the College of Business at Iowa State. He was such a gentle and sweet guy. I still remember being a bit surprised the day he came and told me that he was transferring to Faith Bible College. I knew it was not because he couldn't handle the academics at ISU, rather he seemed driven confidently and quietly by his faith to pursue a different path in life.
