Delores J Alvies
February 10, 1941 - June 25, 2020

DELORES JEAN ALVIES was born February 10, 1941, to the union of Rudolph & Mary Alvies Sr. in Indianapolis, Indiana. She attended School 56 Elementary, graduated from Arsenal Technical High School, and attended Ivy Technical College for nursing. She received Christ at a young age. She enjoyed putting puzzles together, playing cards, and she had a love for reading books, especially novels by the author Danielle Steel. Delores was fun-loving and full of life and met no strangers. She was known as "Baba and Uncle Buck" to those that knew her best.
DELORES worked at Methodist Hospital in the children's ward for several years. She was one of the first black cashiers to work at Kroger. Delores diligently supported her mother and helped care for her younger brothers, nieces, and nephews. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, teaching them the fundamental things of life, and encouraging them to go after their dreams, live their passion, and honor God.
DELORES was blessed with one son Ronald Jeffery Alvies Sr., who she loved and cherished. She worked hard to send him to Bishop College in Texas later he joined the United States Army.
DELORES departed this life on Thursday, June 25, 2020; she was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and son.
DELORES leaves to cherish her brother and sister in laws: Rudolph & Edith Alvies Jr, Gary & Debora (Fayetteville, NC), Brian & Melissa Alvies, and Dale & Rhonda Alvies. Grandchildren Ronald Jr., Aaron, and Brandon Spencer. Eight Great-Grandchildren (Jada, Aariona, Carmon, Aaron Jr., Braylon, Kailyn, Bryson, Heiress), and a host of nieces and nephews.
