"I'll never forget the first time I met Charlene, 63 years ago. Dick brought her to Burbank to meet my mom and dad shortly after they were married. I was in high school and looked up to see a beautiful lady that quickly became my confidant and an inspiration to many. She became my "Charlie Brown." She was Miss Hospitality trying to teach me how to make cinnamon rolls and countless other baked goods. As I read 2Timothy 4:7 I think of her.. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.""

"I will always remember Nana's banana pudding and her delicious rolls, all of the family gatherings, birthdays, and holidays spent together, hunting for the wooden Easter egg, and her SMILE that would light up any room! She was so funny and had the best sense of humor and she always made me feel loved. I am so grateful that GOD gave me and my children the opportunity to have this amazing woman in our lives for fourteen short years. She was one of the toughest women I've ever met, and her friends and family loved her so much. We are blessed with all of the memories we have of her and will carry them in our hearts forever. Love you so much, Nans. Fly with the angels."
