Portsmouth, RI - Christopher Jay Simmons, 38, of 63 Black Point Lane, Portsmouth, died at home on August 14, 1995. Born in Burbank, CA on May 11, 1957, he was the son of Constance L. DeCotis Simmons of Portsmouth, RI and the late Christopher J. Simmons, III. Jay was a graduate of Rogers High School. He worked for Nunes Motor Company as an Auto Mechanic and also for Paul Valenti Construction Company on the construction of the Newport Hospital. Besides his mother he is survived by his daughter, Candy Simmons, his brothers Andrew J. Simmons, Anthony OP. Simmons and his sister Sheila L. Holmes.His funeral was held on at St. Marys Catholic Church, and burial was in Middletown Cemetery, Middletown, RI.
