Fall River, - Dorothy ?Rachel? Medeiros, 65, of 27F Rolling Green Fall River, MA, died Saturday, August 16, 2003 at Charlton Memorial Hospital Fall River, MA.She was the wife of Ronald Medeiros. Born in Newport, RI on November 24, 1937, she was the daughter of Dorothy Devlin Toppa of Middletown, RI and the late Nicholas Toppa.Mrs. Medeiros belonged to the Order of the Holy Ghost as a nun from 1954 to 1959. She was a cook for several Families on Bellevue Avenue. Mrs Medeiros worked as a seamstress for ODonnells Dry Cleaners on Thames Street in Newport. She as a competative roller skate dancing and roller figure skating for 18 years. Besides her husband and mother she leaves four brothers Robert Toppa of Cranston, RI, William Toppa of Alaska, Nicholas Toppa Jr. of Middletown, RI, and Stephen Toppa of Newport, RI, her sister Rita Claire Toppa of Bristol, RI, and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2003, at 8:00 AM from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00 AM in St. Marys Church, Spring Street, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
