Newport, RI - Manuel Silvia, Jr., 71, of 90 Girard Avenue Newport, RI, died Monday, January 12, 2004 at Heatherwood Nursing And Subacute Center Newport, RI. Born in Newport, RI on December 28, 1932, he was the son of the late Manuel and Margaret Tarvis Silvia. Mr. Silvia served in the United States Air Force. He worked in the maintenance department at Roger Williams College. He is survived by two sons Manuel Silvia Jr. of Riverside, RI, and William H. Silvia of Pawtucket, RI, his daughter Catherine Mary Ferris of East Providence, RI, his brother Richard Silvia of Clinton, CT, seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.His funeral will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2004, at 11:00AM, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Liver Foundation, New England Chapter, 88 Winchester Street, Newton, MA 02461.
