"To the family of Midge DeMello, In our time on this planet we have close relationships with loved ones and family that are forged by deep emotional ties. When you work with the public, as Midge did at the YMCA, you also develop many "acquaintance relationships". I became an acquaintance of Midge through the YMCA. Many times, these "acquaintance relationships" never get by the courteous, "hello" and "good-bye" stage. However, Midge had a warmth and kindness about her that enabled mere acquaintances to grow into friendships. I have spoken with many people who are members of the YMCA who shared this feeling about Midge. For so many of us, Midge provided a cheerfulness in the middle of our days. She will be missed. With sympathy, Geof Reilly"

"Dear Midge's Family, I was so sorry to hear about Midge's passing. I have known Midge for 23 years. I was a patient at Dr. Cummins and Frazzano's office. When I had an emergency appendectomy years ago, she sent me a get well card everyday for 2 weeks! Then we saw each other again, every Tuesday when I would bring my Mom to Dr.Papa for chemo. We all made the best of it and had a few laughs at his office. My Mom died this past October. I know how you feel. Midge and my Mom are in heaven now and finally at peace....we are the ones who are not at peace....but we will be fine....we owe it to them. Know that I am thinking of you and that I loved Midge. Sincerely, Cathy"
