Middletown, RI - Mary Margaret Marian Shalvey Reddy, 80, of 10 Phillps Avenue Middletown, died Sunday, January 30, 2005 at Grand Islander Health Care Center Middletown, RI.She was the wife of the late John T. Reddy HTC USN. Born in New York City, NY on May 18, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Vincent A. and Mary Moore Shalvey. Mrs. Reddy worked as a clerk for the Security Pass Office at the NETC for 10 years. She had previously worked for the Commissioner of the Dept. of Traffic in NYC. Mrs. Reddy was a member of the Ladies Auxillary FRA Unit 19 and its past president, she also was the Past Regional President of the New England Ladies Auxillary Fleet Reserve Association. She served as the Past President of the Ladies Auxillary of the Military Order of the Cooties. A Past President of Division 1 of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Newport. Past County President of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Newport. She was also a member of the VFW Auxillary Post 4487, the CPO Wives and the Emblem Club. She was a member of the Kiwani?s of Newport. She is survived by a son Dennis A. Reddy of Middletown, RI, a daughter Patricia A. Girton of Bradford, RI, a son In Law Richard M. Girton of Bradford, RI, a granddaughter Kasey Meredith Girton of Bradford, RI, two brothers Edward P. Shalvey and Vincent A. Shalvey, her sister Patricia Moore Watts of all of NY, NY, and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late John A. ReddyHer funeral will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2005, at 9:00a.m.from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Marys Church, Spring Street, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
