Portsmouth, RI - Michael Thomas Davis, 20, of 56 Orchard View Road, Portsmouth, RI, died Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at Mass General Hospital, Boston, MA. Born in Providence, RI on July 20, 1985, he was the son of Robert E. and Liz Moore Davis of Portsmouth. Michael grew up in Portsmouth and graduated from Portsmouth High School in the class of 2003. He was a student at Bristol Community College in Fall River where he was studying communications journalism. He enjoyed writing and using his pen to raise concerns and issue, and he recently had an article run in the BCC student newspaper. He was also a member of MASSPIRG, an organization aimed at bringing change through education and activism. Mike enjoyed playing his guitar and loved computer gaming. Besides his parents he is survived by a brother Kevin Davis of Portsmouth, his paternal grandmother Catherine Davis of Palm Bay, FL, four aunts Margaret Lieb and her husband Robert of New York, NY, Margaret Garcia of Florence, AZ, Nancy Davis of Melbourne, FL and Katherine Moore of Providence, RI, three uncles Thomas Moore and his wife Nancy of Middletown, RI, Joseph Davis of Portsmouth, RI, and Richard Davis and his wife Susan of Rockledge, FL and his cousins Jennifer Hillyer and her husband Cameron of New York, NY, Jessica Moore, TJ Moore and Justin Moore of Middletown, Michelle, Brian and Christine Davis of Middletown, and Angela, Jacqueline and Catherine Holder of Florence, AZ. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Margaret and Thomas Moore and Collie Davis, and his uncle James Davis. His funeral will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2006, at 9:00 a.m. from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, followed by with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery, Browns Lane, Middletown. Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 24, 2006, from 6-8 p.m. in the Connors Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations in Mikes memory may be made to Sumner Redstone Burn Center at Mass General Hospital, Gray Bigalow 1303, 55 Fruit Street, Boston, MA 02114.
