Theresa R. Stroud
June 3, 1917 - May 16, 2006

Theresa R. Stroud, 88, of 50 Livingston Place, Middletown, RI, died Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at the Mass General Hospital, Boston, MA. She was the wife of the late Darrell Mottu Stroud. Born in Newport, RI, on June 3, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Marco Giovanni and Domenica Christina Risso Risso.Mrs. Stroud worked at the Eastern Rhode Island Farm Bureau from 1935-1940 and for for civil service from 1940 to 1953 at the US Department of Agriculture in Washington, DC. She also worked as a purchasing agent at the US Naval Supply Depot in Newport and at the US Central torpedo office. Mrs. Stroud was a Graduate of Rogers High School, Class of 1934. She was a Communicant of St. Lucys Church. She was also a member of the Edward King House and the Middletown Senior Citizens Center. Mrs. Stroud was a member of St. Monicas Guild at the Cenacle in Newport. She is survived by a daughter Christine Stroud McCaull of Fernandina Beach, FL, two sons Paul Stroud of Jamestown, RI, and William Stroud of Milton, MA, four grandchildren Christopher P. Stroud of Jamestown, RI, Laura L. Stroud of Jamestown, RI, Eric T. Stroud of Jamestown, RI, and Dana L. Engle of Fernandina Beach, FL, and one great grandchild Larissa Alexis McCaull of Fernandina Beach, FL. She was also the sister of the late Lewis E. Risso and Frances R. Devlin, and the grandmother of the late Brian D. McCaull. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2006, at 8:00 a.m. from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown. Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 19, 2006, from 4-8 p.m. in the Memorial Funeral Home.
