"Dear Pam, Norah and Gillian, How is it possible that the many times I had dinner with your whole family around your dining table in Washington was so very long ago. I can close my eyes and think of it being yesterday. Your father to my right ignoring the fact that I was kicking his leg thinking it was that of the table!!! Hugh was part of the group as we all negotiated over who would do the dishes...Good skills to have in future life! The negotiating part! Know that I am thinking of you all with my best wishes and great fondness. Tory"

"This is what I read at the memorial for my older and only brother. Remember Hugh To the living, he is gone. To the sorrowful, he will never return. To the angry, he was cheated. But to the happy, he is at peace. And to the faithful, he has never left. Hugh cannot be seen, but he can be heard. So as I stand upon a shore, gazing at a beautiful sea-- I remember Hugh. As I look in awe at a mighty forest and its grand majesty-- I remember Hugh. As I look upon a flower and admire its simplicity-- I remember Hugh. I remember him in my heart, my thoughts, and my memories of the times we loved, the times we cried, the times we fought, the times we laughed. For if I always think of him, he will have never gone.
