The way Paul always smiled and never had a bad thing to say is what I remember most about him. In high school football games, Middletown vs Rogers, I remember walking out to center of the field before the game for the coin toss and there was Paul with this huge smile saying hello and good luck. I never clicked on the obitutary as I couldn't imagine that he was gone. I knew and dated Paul at Bridewater. "I am an old friend of Paul's from when he was living in San Francisco. I am just learning of his passing now, and I cannot imagine this world without Paul's spark. In a short time, Paul became one of my most cherished friends. While we stayed in touch after he returned to RI, and he was generous enough to host me and my wife on our trip back east several years ago, we didn't talk nearly enough in recent years. But I knew we would never lose touch, and we would be friends for life. Paul was the genuine article, there was no pretense or artificiality about him.
