"I was shocked and saddened to read of Susan's death in a KU alumni publication. Susan moved into Miller Scholarship Hall as a freshman. She was a novelty to us Kansas girls with her striking Rhode Island accent and outsize personality. I remember her as being smart, funny and full of energy. I also remember the summer we shared the second story of a big, old house in Lawrence with two other girls. Susan worked the night shift at Denny's and always kicked each stair--hard!--when she came home at about 4 a.m. because we had no light on the staircase."

"When I first began working at AMA at 6 John Clarke, I worked with Susan in support of her assignment to Aquidneck Graphics. I found her to be a highly competent, intelligent woman. I spent quite a bit of time with her and she shared all her work challenges, successes, and experiences with me. I really liked her very much and my children even got to spend time with her. I have thought of Susan often over these past many years but time has passed by so quickly and we didn't spend time together since her departure from AMA. The imprint of this impressive petite, blonde spitfire is not one that can be easily erased from our family's memory. My husband, children and I send our love and prayers to you and your family. "Dear Trainor family, My deepest sympathies to all of you. I was fortunate enough to be a part of your family for many years, and remember Susan fondly. I usually ended up across from her at the dining room table for the many suppers I had with you. The young boys of Bailey Terrace always looked cool when an older Trainor girl took them out in the old orange convertible. Susan always had a knack for helping us out and giving us guidance, and she always had a smile on. On our cross country road trip to California 4 smelly teenagers in a Corolla we had a well deserved break visiting her at KU. I will remember her more like a third older sister than just a neighbor. . . With prayers and love to you all, Tim"
