Newport, RI - Rose Marie Augeri Gionfriddo, 88, of 288 Sprague Street, Portsmouth, RI, formerly of 11 Young Street, Newport, RI, died Monday, July 21, 2008 at Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown, RI.She was the wife of the late Paul J. Gionfriddo.Born in Middletown, CT on September 28, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Sebastian and Vincera DiMauro Augeri.Mrs. Gionfriddo was a cook for 25 years at St. Marys Convent. She was also an Avon Lady for 45 years. She was an avid Sewer, enjoyed baseball, card playing and crossword puzzles. She is survived by her daughter Marie P. Gionfriddo of Portsmouth, RI, her brothers Angelo Augeri, Frank Augeri and Salvatore Augeri all of Middletown, CT, her sisters Angelina Augeri of Middletown, CT, Lucy Tiscia of Stanford, CT and Concentian Augeri of Middletown, CT, and her grandsons Matthew C. George of Portsmouth, RI and Paul F. George, MD and his wife Joanne Silvia, MD both of Pawtucket, RI.She was the sister of the late Joseph Augeri, Michael Augeri, Mary Boniauto andJosephine Bartlotta. Her funeral will be held on Friday, July 25, 2008, at 9:00am, from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am, in St. Marys Church, Spring Street, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2008, from 4-7, in the funeral home.
