Tiverton, RI - M. Jane Hill RN, 74, of The Villages of Mt. Hope Bay, Tiverton, passed on peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at home, after a recent diagnosis of cancer. Jane was born in Norwood, MA, the daughter of the late Joseph A. Dornig and Mary Costello Dornig of Walpole, MA.Jane was employed as a Registered Nurse with the US Post Office in Providence, RI for many years. Jane was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Barnabas Church in Portsmouth. She graduated from St. Catherine Laboure Nursing College in Boston in 1955. At the Villages on Mt. Hope Bay, she was a member of the Hospitality Committee. She loved flowers and was an avid reader and a member of the Book Club. She enjoyed cooking and hosted many dinner parties. Jane valued her friends and they her, she also enjoyed travelling and making new friends. Beside her beloved husband Paul C. Hill of Tiverton, she is survived by her children: her loving daughter Maureen Jane Hill Collins and her husband Duff Collins of Sharon, MA, her loving sons Paul C. Hill, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Mansfield, MA, Joseph D. Hill and his wife Kathryn of Medway, MA, and Patrick M. Hill and his wife Karen of Gambrills, Maryland; and nine grandchildren. Scott Hill, Matthew Hill, Kristen Hill, Justin Collins, Samantha Collins, Robin Hill, Caroline Hill, Patrick Joseph Hill, and Logan Hill. She was the sister of the late Joseph Dornig of California.Her funeral will commence on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 9:00 am from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Pocasset Hill Cemetery in Tiverton.Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 9, 2009 from 1:00-3:00pm and 6:00-9:00pm in the funeral home.
