A man of integrity, who totally loved his work, truly knew how to play, a friend to everyone who met him, always happy with a big heartfelt smile, a man who loved his family. Bruce was a positive, loving force in all of our lives. Bruce knew the secret to living and loving life to the fullest. Please take comfort now and forever knowing that Bruce loved you more than life itself. You were the reason for the meaning in his life. He was called home way too early in his young life. Today and in all the days to come feel God’s love wash over you now. May God wrap you in his loving arms and always comfort you just as he now and forever keeps Bruce at his side doing His work. May this traumatic event of Bruce’s passing in our lives be a strong reminder of how very precious and fragile life is and how we need to live life with purpose and meaning every single day. Today, a new angel, Bruce, has arrived, who will watch over you forever. Be at peace Jane as you remember how much Bruce loves you. Love to you and your family, LuAnn Bruce’s Cousin"

He was a fine man who learned well from the two of you what hard work is and how to live an honorable life. We are devastated at his passing and sharing in your pain at this time. He thought the world of you, had a wonderful childhood and always felt that you were the best parents any child could have. Uncle Skeet, you introduced him to the tools of the plumbing trade, gave him the support and confidence to pursue a career he came to love and through your role modeling Bruce became the highly sought after and exceptional plumber he was. You and Aunt Annie introduced him to having fun on the water at Third Beach teaching him to sail that Sunfish, later becoming one of his most pleasurable pastimes…boating. May you find peace and comfort in knowing how much Bruce loved you and how thankful he was to have the love of such wonderful parents. Love, LuAnn and Gary"

"Bruce was my cousin but he was more like a brother to me. I remember growing up with Brucey, as we all called him. He had a zest for life and a contagious smile that brightened the whole room when he entered. Bruce was always in a good mood. A little shy with a great wit and wonderful personality. He called me LuLu. He loved to tease me and I loved it when he did. I remember him in his cowboy pajamas and hearing his brown vinyl slippers hitting the vinyl covering of the stairs to the kitchen to have breakfast before school every morning. He would come down the stairs and walk some on the carpet and then “slide” into the kitchen to his chair at the end of the table. Then with a big grin…say…”What’s up LuLu?” Later on as we were older he took me water skiing in his beautiful boat off Third Beach. He was the only one who didn’t drag me through the water before I was up on the skis…He knew just how much gas to give the boat to make it an easy lift out of the water. I was so proud of Bruce and all that he accomplished in his life. He truly lived his life authentically, always being true to himself about who he was. He married the woman of his dreams, Jane...I loved Bruce very much and this is a very devastating loss for me. He will always be the brother I never had. The last time I saw Bruce was at his and Jane’s beautiful home. He came running out to greet us when we pulled up to the house. I will never forget how he was smiling or how he looked. We had a wonderful dinner and laughed a lot. I am very proud to have had Bruce McPherson in my life. Thanks for all the good times Bruce. May God hold you close in his loving arms forever…until we meet again…I love you…LuAnn"

But more important was that he was one of the kindest, funniest and orignal nice guys that you would ever want to meet. We know how much he loved you and going on vacation. We also know how much he loved animals. When our cat was young he was afraid of most people, but not Bruce. He would always come out to see Bruce and follow him around the house. Bruce will always be close to our hearts. God bless you and your family during this time of sorrow. We will truly miss him!"

I almost called him back to tell him that I love him, but did not so hopefully, he knows that I always loved him over the years. So take care to my family. To Jane and her family thanks for all their love and support over the past week when we were at Rhode Island Hospital and through the difficult week ahead. On a personal level, we spent a lot of time with our mutual pal, Dan. The 3 of us referred to ourselves as "The Dream Team". When the 3 of us were together it was the best. The memories will last forever. Most of all I will remember our ride to Vermont last year to see our pal, Dan. He shared his traumatic experiences of past with me and told me how he couldn't have made it through without the support of his wife Jane. He told me how much he loved his wife and how she was his soulmate. He told me to enjoy life with the ones you love because you never know when that day will come. "I am so sorry to hear the news about our dear friend Bruce. He will never be forgotten. Anytime he was needed for a plumbing issue large or small he was always there to help. Even in a snow storm if Bruce could get down his driveway he would be there. To Bruce's family treasure and hold your memories very close. I know he loved his family and he will be missed by many! Garnie, Margo, and Anne"
