"I heard this news today, It is as sad as sad can be. Carol was the force behind me and supporting me in my entrepreneurarl endeavor. I opened my store and we had just met, she was confidence, sexy and everything rolled into one. She is the fabric of who I am as a woman, as a being and we reconnected last year, I had no idea or way of knowing it was the last time we were to see each other and I would be the last people to post on her facebook wall. Carol, I am crying for you now and you would tell me to shut up and give me a big hug. You are a close and dear friend, I will never forget our time together or our talks, I will always look up to you as someone positive that encouraged me in my life. I cannot believe I missed your final curtain call, I pray you were not alone. Always and forever, I love you, your "adopted, crazy daughter" Trisha."

"Carol and I became friends the first day we met in 2004 at our chemotherapy session. We were introduced to each other by a nurse because we were on the same rigorous chemotherapy plan. I was also raised in Portsmouth so we had another common thread. Every week you knew when Carol arrived at the Comprehensive Cancer Center - she wore a different, exotic hat and earrings that made the staff and patients smile and laugh out loud. She was always full of spirit and upbeat. We continued our friendship through treatments and surgeries and were happy to rejoice on our cancer-free anniversaries. This past Christmas her card was signed upbeat as usual. I am saddened deeply that she has passed. I will always remember her smile. My condolences to her family. A friend, Fran Carreiro"
