Middletown, RI - Loretta Andrews Roggero Ciavarini, 80, of Middletown, RI, died Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Heatherwood Nursing And Subacute Center, Newport, RI. She was the wife of Vincent P. Roggero.She is preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Harry S. Andrews Jr.Born in Newport, RI on June 10, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Perrini Ciavarini.She is survived by her husband Vincent P. Roggero of Middletown, RI , her daughter Christine Cole and her husband Thomas of Cranston, RI, her sons David F. Andrews and his wife Eileen of Portsmouth, RI and Richard H. Andrews and his wife Heather of Warren, RI.She was a devoted grandmother to four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Loretta was the sister of Catherine Ours and the late Frank Ciavarini Jr.Loretta graduated from St Catherines Academy Class of 1947, and was also a graduate of the Newport Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1950. She also attended Johnson and Whales University. At the time of her retirement from nursing, she worked at NUSC on the Navy Base for 12 years as an Administrative Specialist.Throughout the years Loretta held many leadership positions in various community organizations. She was a former president of the Middletown Democratic Womens Club. She was also a board member of the Middletown Senior Center. Loretta was a member of the Newport School of Nursing alumni. Loretta was an amateur artist, an avid reader and loved gardening. Her funeral will be held on Thursday May 19, 2011, at 9:00 am at St Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown. Donations may be may in her memory to St. Marys Church Memorial Fund, 1525 Cranston, RI 02920.Calling hours are omitted.Burial will be private.
