"Sandy, Billy, Jamie, Nicole,I heard of Roman's passing today and I am at a loss for words. Roman was the first person I met when I arrived in Gaeta, Italy, He was more of a big brother than a boss. Life drags us all in different directions and we lose touch, but with Roman you picked up where you left off. He was there for me again, when I moved to Newport and was the first to invite me into your home, take me boating, and show me the town. He was a good soul and I am sure he is keeping St. Peter company while he waits for the rest of us. S.L. Reynolds"

"I just learned of Roman's passing and was saddened to have heard about it. He and I worked together at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard years ago, and I knew him as a friend, fellow veteran, and dedicated family man. He always had a positive outlook on things; a cheery disposition. My sincere condolences and may he rest in peace."

"My condolences to Roman's family and friends. Roman was a great big-hearted guy. I had the pleasure of working with Roman at the Naval War College. Roman put new grips on my golf clubs and wouldn't take anything in return not even to cover his cost. That was his character. I will think fondly of him everytime I use those clubs."

"To Sandy & family, I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Roman at NWC, but even after his retirement, he always stopped to say hello whenever we'd bump into each other town. He was a nice guy & a gentleman. Your family is in my prayers."

"I served in the Navy, bowled and golfed with Roman in the late 1980's. He was one of the best leaders I had in the Navy. Roman got me started in umpiring in Middletown LL and we even coached the All-Star team one year together. Roman was a good person to be around and the life of a party. We send our sympathy to Sandy, Billy, Jamie and Nicole."
