Middletown, RI - Elsie L. Paquin Coggeshall Lorence, passed away at Newport Hospital with family at her side on October 16, 2011. She was born on May 14, 1921, a life long resident of Portsmouth and Newport and residing the last several years at Forest Farm.Elsie was the oldest of seven children born to Harry R. Paquin and Leah M. Delisle Paquin. She was the widow of Gardner L. Coggeshall and Stanley H. Lorence.She is survived by her son, Gardner ?Bud? L. Coggeshall Jr. and his wife Joan of Tiverton, and her daughter, Karen M. Buonvino of Portsmouth and daughter-in-law Susan Coggeshall of Bristol.Elsie?s siblings Harry Paquin Jr. and Janice Paquin of Middletown, Irene Hansen of Florida and Annette Hibbad of Tiverton survive her.She leaves her grandchildren, Lori Lemos, Paul Buonvino and Tina Recupero of Tiverton; Ronald Coggeshall Jr. and Robin Harden of Bristol. She also leaves six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.She was predeceased by her son Ronald Coggeshall, grandson Gardner Scott Coggeshall and her brothers Ralph and Wilfred ?Bill? Paquin and son-in-law Joseph Buonvino.Elsie served on the Board of the Eastern RI Cooperative Extension, a member of the Johnny Cake Club, and was an active member of the Portsmouth Senior Citizen Center for many years. Elsie enjoyed her role as a homemaker and was talented in arts and crafts from an early age, creating her own patterns to sew and knit for her family, enjoyed playing the piano, drawing, camping and breeding miniature poodles.Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, from 4-7pm, in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RIHer funeral will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2011, at 11:00am, in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in St. Marys Churchyard in Portsmouth.Donations in her memory may be made to the Forest Farm Activities Center, 201 Forest Avenue, Middletown, RI 02842 or to the Portsmouth Senior Citizens Center, 110 Bristol Ferry Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871
