"I worked with John at Citizens Bank right after graduating high school. He helped me with my finances and shortly afterward I joined the military. He always stayed in touch. Every Christmas season we would meet at Trinity Rep for the Christmas Carol, sometimes get a meal in Providence at the Capital Grille or Newport. When I got married we shared the tradition of the Christmas Carol every year with my son and I?d meet up with him for the wine and food festival in Newport. I think our last year was 2012.. Since then I moved to Boston and always think about him, saying I need to reach out. I texted him tonight and thought let me see if he?s in social media and instead found his obituary. I?m very sad I never got to say good bye to someone who mentored me and my sincere condolences to his family. John is a great man and I miss him. "

"I just saw this ... My mom told me. I'm so sorry. He was the best basketball player the Rich ever saw. When I was little at the Sants (My Grandparents) we'd go down Coggeshall and play with Jimmy and Johnny. They had a hoop and a pool table. When I got to URI, after I got out of the service, John and Peter Shea were there at homecoming. We Mingled and Mangled all afternoon.Rest Well 'BroJohn Grover"

"My sincere condolences to all of Beebes's friends and family. He and my brother Mark were great friends and he was one of the nicest, most laid back people I've ever known. Beebes and I shared quite a few cups of coffee in the Ram's Den while we were both students at URI, too. I just learned of his passing and I'm so sorry to hear it."

"Please accept my sincerest sympathy on the loss of John. I first knew John when he was at Citizens Bank. He was the go-to guy for any type of complex or thorny question. He would reason it out and come up with a solution. We used to talk about Dancing with the Stars and how much he admired Stacy Keebler. His chuckle was the very best and I always had a good day if I heard it. I worked with him again when he was at KPMG, and was always reassured when he was involved with an issue, because you knew he would make certain it was completed and correctly done.He was truly a treasure and I will miss him.Judy Goodnow"

Joe Crotteau - June 12, 2013 a.. wrote on Jun 2, 2013:

"Hello, there is a great story behind the guitar in that picture. He was very very excited about the guitar when he bought it. Really sparked his music enthusiasm; I was stoked about it too.A couple years after the pic was taken, Mrs. Beebe accidently sat on it, as John left it sitting on the couch. The guitar was simply crushed and unrepairable. It was amazing how he handled it when he told me. Calm, very little swearing. Actually laughed a little, took it philosophically. Never got angry with his mom. We laughed about it for years. Regards,Joe Crotteau"

"As the person who worked with him since he was 18 on learning the guitar, I can tell you his guitar playing was second to his Voice. His Voice was his greatest artistic gift. Fortunately I have all of his recordings, and I will cherish them all as long as I live.I suffer his loss even though I take solace in knowing his was a life well - lived.Gotta go now. Gotta find a new best friend.Joe Crotteau."

He was very intelligent and kind. He would always take the time to sit and chat with you about anything that was going on and I always left his office with a smile on my face. To John's family......I am so sorry for your loss. Please find comfort in knowing that others share your loss. John was such a fabulous person in every way. I will miss him greatly."

"We are deeply saddened to have lost such a wonderful uncle and friend. John was a lovely kind, gentle, and talented soul with nothing but goodness inside. We shared his lifelong passion for music and it bound us in a very special way. Most of our conversations inevitably centered around the guitar, singing, recording, and the multitude of musical inspirations we had in common. We love him very much and his passing leaves a big hole in our lives. May he be strumming his strings and singing his tunes for all eternity. Rock on Johnny."

I was always impressed by how gentle you were with your mother and all of the aunts in the family. How a man treats his mother says much about his character and you are clearly a man of integrity, with a kind and loving soul. This world is a little less brighter today, without you."

He has always been a kind soul, always one to put up a good joke, or even a performance (imitating Tom Jones), and he was never judgmental. Every time I have seen him, it was always with a smile.
