"I posted this pic of the 1983-4 PHS Patriots ball team a few years ago. Chuck created this hilarious character - Moses after Celtic nemesis Moses Malone. He started to get really interested in rebounding and interior play. He'd wait for the right opportunity and come flying into to grab a rebound, slapping the ball hard, and yelling MOSES! He actually played better in character. When we played Central Falls away ahe decided to cover himself up with white towels on the bench I guess because Moses would do it. Coach saw him and had to laugh along with us. Incidentally Moses Malone died about 6 months ago at the age of 60. I am really sad I won't see Chuck again. I was sort the opposite of him way too serious sometimes, and he could break me out of that. I told him Van Halen was superficial, just face value. That blew his mind. He reminded me of it with a laugh every time I saw him even many years later. I really am sad, my best to all his loved ones."

Although i had not seen or talked to Chuck since we played High School Baseball together I have many fond memories of him helping me In both high school ball and when Mr Bailey was my coach in little league and Babe Ruth. 30 plus years later I still tell the story to anyone who'll listen about how Chuck talked the JV coach into letting me try out for Shortstop after the varsity coach wouldn't let me cuz I didn't look like a SS. I tell my kids not to let anyone tell you that you can't do something and part of that comes from Chuck. He was a great guy when I knew him and I'm sure he grew up to be a fine man! Too young.
