She was a hard-working and took her work seriously. After that I saw her many times walking on Washington Street with her friend Helen and sometimes we sat on the bench and chatted. Margaret was a loving person and a very good friend. She will be missed by all who knew her. Much love to Regina her daughter, and her brothers and to her other family members"

"Aunt Margaret welcomed me into her heart, home, & family in July, 1981, when I arrived at her door as a total strange. I had driven to Newport from Indianapolis on a quest to find my long-lost father, Henry Medeiros, a brother of Margaret's husband, George. I only had slivers of information to aid in my search; one being my uncle, George, was a fireman in Newport. I stopped at the first firehouse I came upon and asked if anyone knew my uncle. Bingo! I had his address!! I knocked on Margaret's & George's front door and I was taken into their hearts. They connected me with my Medeiros family and with my father who was living in Oklahoma. He passed in 1986. I just returned from a visit to see my cousin, (their son) George, Jr., in Ventura, CA. I also made a first-time visit to my father's grave in Oklahoma on my return drive home. Margaret's passing brings an unwelcome closure to a very special chapter of my life. I love you Aunt Margaret. I will miss you. Thank you for your kindness and generosity. Paulette (Medeiros) Bowen, Indianapolis, IN"
