June M. (Groux) Santos, 77, of Freeborn Street, Newport, RI, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at the Village House Nursing Home in Newport.She is the wife of Arthur J. Santos.Born on November 1, 1938 in Newport, RI, she is the daughter of the late Albert and Grace Groux as well as sister to the late Grace Pedro, Kathleen (Kay) Sekunda, Albert, Walter, and Donald Groux.June Santos was a registered nurse and graduated from the Newport Hospital School of Nursing. She lived a life helping others and especially enjoyed taking care of children, which she did at Newport Hospital, raising her own family, and later all the children that came to her home daycare. In addition to her husband of 56 years, she is survived by her children, Joann M. Anderson and her husband, Don, of Rowley, MA, Marjorie E. O'Neill and her husband, Stephen, of Howell, NJ, Matthew J. Santos and his wife, Mary, of Hull, MA; her sister, Anna Anderson of Newport, RI; and four grandchildren, Lilly and Thomas Anderson, Alena and Karina ONeill.Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 4, 2016 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI, with a with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway at Vernon Avenue, Newport, RI.
