Paul Joseph "P.J." Lewis, of Newport, RI, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2017. He is survived by his son Craig and daughters, Dallas L. and Taylor A. Lewis of Ft. Pierce, FL, along with his former wife, Brenda Speenburg.He was preceded in death by his parents, Emery A. Lewis and F. Lorraine Donnelly, along with his brothers, Donald Jay Lewis, Michael Kerry Lewis, George Taylor Lewis, and his sister, Jeanne Marie "Ginger" Lewis.He is survived by his three sisters, Donna Lewis Nannini, Mary Kathleen Cappuccilli and Shirley Lorraine Torgerson, along with two brothers, Emery A. Lewis and Edward R. Lewis.P.J. attended Berklee College of Music and graduated with honors from FAU. He was a Sr. Computer Programmer, however, music was his greatest enjoyment. He opened for many country performers such as Toby Keith, Clint Black, Dixie Chicks, and the Charlie Daniels Band. P.J. loved life, music and his children. He will surely be missed by all who knew him.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017, at 10:30am, in St. Lucy's Catholic Church, West Main Road, Middletown. Burial will follow in the Middletown "Four Corners" Cemetery, corner of Turner and Wyatt Roads, Middletown.
