Denis J. Soucisse, 83, of Middletown, RI, formerly of Lawrence, MA, died Monday, January 8th was born May 1, 1934 in Howick, Quebec, Canada, the son of the late Joachim Soucisse and Rose Francoeur. He was the husband of the late Mary (Balevic) Soucisse, (1946-2003).Denis moved to Lawrence, MA as a young man and began working as a carpenter. He started Quality Construction Company and was a residential and commercial builder in Londonderry, NH. Over the course of four decades Denis built 100's of custom homes from Boston to Nantucket, with his final project being to help his children resurrect their late 1800's home in Middletown, RI. Denis would eventually retire here at Easton's beach with his family where he helped care for his two grandchildren, Mia and Maxime. Denis could be found most often enjoying the day driving in his little blue convertible, singing his country music, or having coffee at Aquidneck Pizza where he liked to spend time with his friends telling stories of his family and life in Canada.He is survived by his children, Danielle and Richard Braun of Middletown, RI and Raeanne Hallahan of Merrimack, MA, and his six grandchildren, Mia, Maxime, Aiden, Julian, Jade, and Chase.A visitation will be held on January 20th, 2:00-4:00pm, at Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.
