William Patrick Manewich
January 12, 1963 - April 24, 2019

William Manewich, 56, of Newport, passed away on April 24, 2019, after a long illness.Bill was born on January 12, 1963, in Athol, MA, to the late James Manewich and the late Judith (Grover) Manewich. He was the husband of Paula (Hand) Hafner for the last 11 years.Bill received a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from UMass - Amherst and worked in that field for most of his life until illness preventing him from doing so. In his spare time, he was am avid sports fan, but particularly hockey, which he still played on ice skates and roller blades. He also loved fishing, but only as "catch and release".Besides his wife, Paula, he is survived by his son, William P. Manewich, III Granby, MA, his siblings, Jay Manewich, Daniel Manewich, Kris Turney, and Susan Manewich, his step children, Paul Hafner, NIcholas Hafner, James Hafner, Michelle Hafner and Laura Hafner, and their grandchildren, Wyatt Hafner, Samuel Hafner, Saffron Roth, Tamron Roth, and Bernie Roth.A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in the Fort Adams State Park where he and Paula were married.
