John Joseph Coriander, 69, died on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at the Orchard View Manor in East Providence, RI.
He was born on January 27, 1950, and raised in Newport, and was the son of John and Bernadette (Banks) Coriander. He was a Newport resident primarily; but had lived in Centerville, MA and Fall River MA.
He leaves behind his childrens two mothers, Sylvia Smith, FL and Linda A. Cinquegrano, MA. He is survived by his sons, Rodney Johnson, MA and Joseph James Coriander, Virginia Beach VA; his daughters, Selina Corriander-Baynard of Houston TX, Sherry Luzbel, of Pensacola FL, Cristiana Peer of Virginia Beach VA, and Jennifer Coriander of Somerset MA. Mr. Coriander leaves behind his brother, Kevin Coriander of Newport RI and his surviving sisters are Dana Smith of Newport RI, Laurel Coriander of Warren, RI, Rhonda Coriander of Middletown RI, and Bernadette Ibarra of Orlando FL. Mr. Coriander was a loving grandfather to his eighteen grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He is survived by his uncles Philip Coriander of Newport RI, and Dennis Banks, FL; and his aunt, Joan Monteiro of VA;
Mr. Coriander had a passion for fishing. He often fished on the Ocean Drive in Newport and was joined by his son, daughters and many family members.
The calling hours are 11 am to 2 pm on December 14, 2019, at the Memorial Funeral Home at 375 Broadway, Newport RI.
Burial will be private.
