"Dam right celebration of life. That was Mekina on a daily basis. She didn't need a reason to celebrate life she did it everyday the minute she got out of bed. I've never met a better natural zest for life. The minute you stepped into her presence you where celebrating life on her level and it was truly intoxicating. I would look at the world through different eyes just from having a casual conversation with her. I would leave so jealous of her because I could never be in balance with the world like she was, yet so happy and grateful that I was a part of her life. She was put here to enlighten those around her and boy did she do that. She will continue to enlighten me forever no matter where life takes me. Thank u Mekina it was a pleasure."

"Beth and I didn't get to spend as much time as we would like with Mekina because we live so far away but when we did it was something special. She had the ability to light up a room with her amazing sense of humor and beautiful voice. She was independent, beautiful and a very smart girl. We're all better for knowing her. "
