"Gary, my cousin. I remember him being born and growing up as a child. Me being older, I left Kalona and didn't see him much. Living in Washington, DC, 1973-74; my husband, Lloyd, was an avid watcher of the Tonight show & Johnny Carson. One night, Lloyd woke me up to ask if I knew Gary Schrock of Kalona, Iowa? Yes, he's my cousin. Gary had written the Tonight show with a question about Hoss from the TV show Bonanza. I was so excited that I knew someone and was related to them, that Johnny Carson had mentioned on his show. I believe they also did a skit on the show. What a night to remember. Thank you GARY. Rest in peace. You will be missed. Say "Hello" to Lloyd when you see him in heaven. Elaine (Allensworth) Martin"
