"Prayers to the family. Brian was a great man, and though more of a distant relative, his geographic location and relationship with my father allowed us to know one another and be together on occasion. My favorite memory was when Brian took me and my father to a Hawkeye football game in Iowa City against Kent State. It was a great time, and I will cherish it always."

"Lois and girls: I am at a loss for words concerning the passing of my great friend and trustworthy fellow SCC trustee. I was so shocked to learn the news of Brian's passing and there will be a huge void not only in my life but in the life of the Board of Trustees at Southeastern Community College. He was my friend and adviser on the board for many years and I will miss him terribly. My wife Sharon and I have had a lot of good times with Brian and Lois and we are keeping you in our prayers. I know he fought a great fight these last few years and was always very upbeat about his future and no matter when you asked him how he felt he always said 'I feel great'. He never let his illness get him down or if he did he never showed it. I will really miss Brian. May he rest in peace.Moudy Nabulsi"
"Lois, I got to know Brian through his business when I handled some of his advertising from the Hawk Eye. he was always great to talk to. My condolences."
"Heartfelt sympathies to the Roth family. When Lois starting teaching at Danville, she was my accounting teacher. She became so much more to me than that, along with Brian, as they both became my friends and my mentors, guiding me in my last high school years and then in my years at college, UNI of course. I'll always remember Brian for his sense of humor, smile, conversations, his teasing, his wisdom and all the things that he and Lois did for me in my years at UNI to showed me that they cared and loved me. Brian was such an all around great guy, who married such a wonderful woman and then had two beautiful daughters. His legacy and influence in all the lives that were intertwined with his will live on for many years. You will be missed, Brian ~ Love you my friend!"
"Brian was one of my first friends when I moved here in 8th grade. He was always gracious and polite to me and my family. A great community leader, he brought people together. My thoughts are with Lois and her daughters at this time. Rest in Peace Brian"

"Just can't quite find the words to say how much Brian's friendship meant to me. He was one of my truest "cheerleaders" those first few years in the insurance business and remained my cheerleader and friend all these years. Your home, Lois, was a special place for two of my sons and many other young people because you and Brian made it special!! The memories we share of Jazz Band contests, sporting events, proms, etc. with our kids are wonderful. But my best memory of Brian will always be his smile and his strong faith. Know we love the three of you and share your sorrow at this difficult time.Deb and Reg Roth"
"Lois and Family, it was very hard to hear about the passing of Brian. He was a great person who would help anyone. He loved life, his work and most of all his family.
