Kyle Justin Porter, 32, of Geneva, Iowa, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2020, in rural Geneva. He was born August 7, 1987, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Lynn E. and Jamie L. (Baker) Porter.

Kyle graduated from Hampton-Dumont High School, class of 2006. He furthered his education at Ellsworth Community College and then graduated from Iowa State University. Kyle was united in marriage to Kaitlyn Bonzer on December 28, 2019, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ackley. He worked for Syngenta and also farmed and raised cattle. Kyle was a member of the American Simmental Association, Iowa Cattleman's Association and Farm Bureau. His passion centered around farming and showing cattle. You could always find Kyle tinkering in the shop, usually welding something back together or cutting something apart for his next "masterpiece". He was always up for a challenge. Kyle also enjoyed listening to the Iowa State Cyclones from the cab of the tractor any chance he got.

Kyle is survived by his wife Kaitlyn Porter of Geneva; parents Lynn and Jamie Porter of Geneva; maternal grandfather Curtis Baker of Ackley; father- and mother-in-law Scott and Leslie Bonzer of Nashua; sisters-in-law Andria Bonzer and Rylee Bonzer of Charles City and a brother-in-law Ethan Bonzer of Nashua. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Dale and Lorraine Porter, maternal grandmother Ramona Baker and aunt Lisa Baker.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Iowa Junior Simmental Association at 3272 320th Street, Creston, Iowa 50801.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 24, 2020, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ackley. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July, 23, 2020, at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton.
