Eugene Coughlon
November 20, 1925 - July 23, 2020

Gene Coughlon, 94, of Fort Dodge passed away on Thursday July 23rd, 2020 at the Marian Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 25th at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church. The family asks that if possible please wear a mask or face shield and try to social distance. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family.

Gene is survived his wife Collette and their three children, Tim Coughlon ( Patty) of Denver, CO, Joni Coughlon of Sioux City, and Jane Coughlon Ladell (Ray) of Sun Prairie, WI; grandchildren, Jay, Kari, Shawn, Collette, and Nick; 9 great-grandchildren.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents Jeremiah (Jay) and Beatrice (Conners) Coughlon; his sisters, Mary Coughlon and Trudy Straub; brothers, William, Jerry and Joe.

Gene Coughlon was born November 20, 1925 on the family farm. He was a member of Corpus Christi Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Gene farmed in Deercreek Township for over 45 years and was a Realtor/Broker for 34 years. In 1950, he was united in marriage to Collette Fowler at Sacred Heart Church.

The family would like to thank the Marian Home staff for their caring support while Gene resided there.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.

"Collette, you and Gene bought me a set of golf clubs when I was at the Webster County Parishes. I remember Gene with great fondness. I still use the clubs though I haven't gotten much better as a golfer. Fr. Lynn"
