Tributes

Dr. Mark A. Brown wrote on Aug 14, 2020:

"Though I didn't stay in touch with Steve after high school, he was one of the kindest guys I knew while in school. I've read some of the tributes below and agree with Denny that Steve was a man of character and I looked up to him as one of the leaders. I'm praying for his family and friends who continue to grieve his loss. May they feel God's presence and Steve's love and legacy. "

"Steve was such a great guy. He always had a nice word for everyone and a smile on his face. He was always writing us notes and leaving them for us. He will truly be missed!"

Christine Barton wrote on Aug 4, 2020:

"I was dating Marty when I first met Steve. I was nervous to meet new family members, but he treated me with the biggest and warmest smile. That was Steve. It was always Steve...warm, kind, caring, funny. I loved hearing about the stories of his and Marty?s antics as younger boys. As time went on, Steve went through many changes...as we all do. But the kind-hearted soul always remained the same. I know that he and Marty are having a blast in Heaven! I can almost hear the laughter and I can most definitely picture the great big bear hug that took place when Steve?s younger brother welcomed him ?home?. I don?t picture Steve ?resting?...I see him finally living his best life in a perfect and wonderful place. My prayers, thoughts, and love go out to all of his family and friends. "

"Steve was a kind hearted soul to everyone he met. I was fortunate to know him as a friend and shared many fun times together including pick up basketball at the old YMCA and scholastic activities and sports in junior high and high school, neighborhood campouts and hanging out. Heartfelt condolences to his family and many friends."

"Steve was an awesome friend. He was my Quarterback on the field and a great friend off of the field. We had so many adventures and those memories have carried me through the years. He was one heck of an athlete and a person of genuine character. I look forward to the day when we can see each other again. My sincere sympathies to his family and the many others that loved him. "
