January 24, 1922 - July 25, 2020

Helen T. Henderson, age 98 of Colfax, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Accura West in Newton. Graveside services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at the Colfax Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Helen Henderson Memorial Fund and condolences may be left at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

The daughter of Harrison and Anna (Larsen) Huntrod, Helen was born on January 24, 1922 in Nevada, Iowa. She graduated from Colfax High School. On March 16, 1946, Helen was united in marriage to Lloyd V. Henderson. Helen worked as a homemaker, farm work, factory worker and following her retirement, she worked for many years at Cox's Greenhouse in Newton. She was a member of the Colfax United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, She volunteered at the VA hospital in Knoxville, and was a counselor at Girls State. She also enjoyed crafting, gardening and her flowers.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Mitzi (James) Gillam and two sisters, Marge Tiedje and Ruth Mallory, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandson, Andrew and two sisters, Harriette Weirick and Carolyn Gafford.
