Laurie Anne Smith
April 20, 1956 - July 26, 2020

Laurie Anne Smith, 64, of Lake Katrine, NY, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2020 at HealthAlliance Hospital, Broadway Campus. She was born April 20, 1956 in Newburgh, NY, daughter of the late John Allan McGregor and Leona (McCurrie) McGregor. Laurie was married to her husband of 33 years, Wayne W. Smith, they wed on August 2, 1987.

She was a graduate of Hauppauge High School in Hauppauge, NY. Laurie worked for RUPCO in Kingston for many years. She enjoyed crafts and was a very good cook. Laurie was a very strong and amazing person who touched the lives of countless people. She had a good heart and was always there for friends and family when they were in need. She put up a strong battle for many years and is now at peace.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne W. Smith of Lake Katrine, her children, Shannon Smith (Josh Campbell) of Kingston, Jennifer Heiselmann, grandchildren, Aiden Rockwell, Jayden Campbell, and Zoey Heiselmann, her siblings, G. Scott McGregor (Patrice) of Simsbury, CT, and Heather Rosenthal (Matthew) of Hurley, NY, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

"I am.so sorry to hear the loss of laurie. Its been quite a long time since we seen or spoke as we move out of the area of ulster county. I remembe sittingbin the yard chit chanting when i was watching my sisters son clayton who lived in the last trailer by you , it is no longer there now. I remember all the kids playing on the front lawn and be sprayed with the house as toddlers. Boy time sure flys by. My condolences to you all and if you need anything let us know."

"I met my dear Laurie about 5 years through Zoey as she welcomed me into her life and never fell out. We shared our lives I was so thankful to know you Laurie you were there for me the day I came back from girls camp and I couldn't walk I sat on your porch and you kept me hydrated and my feet up till I could leave and go home . That day was the day I learned about you a compassionate wonderful woman that cared about so many people. I was so thankful to be able to say goodbye and receive 3 beautiful smiles from you.
