Joanne M Jenkins
October 13, 1928 - July 29, 2020

Joanne M. Jenkins, 91 of Fort Dodge died Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 7, 2020 at Corpus Christi Church. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home.

Joanne is survived by her sons, Jim and his wife Trish of O'Fallon, MO, Jerry and his wife Joy of Charles City, and Jeff; daughter, Janet Jenkins both of Fort Dodge; grandchildren Tricia, Matt, Nick, Anthony, Amanda (Dan) Hartman, Eric (Chiyoko) Okazaki, great-grandchildren Ellie, Trevor, Abby, Nathan, Connor, Caitlin, Malia, Kaito and Keina.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmet and Vivian (Cain) Flynn; husband, John "Jack", brother, Emmet Flynn Jr and daughter-in-law, Kathy.

Joanne M. Flynn was born October 13, 1928. She was raised and educated in Fort Dodge and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1946. On February 1, 1948 she married Jack Jenkins at Sacred Heart Church. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge where they raised their four children. For 30 years, Joanne assisted with banquets at the Fort Dodge Country Club and the Starlite. Joanne enjoyed volunteering at the church and the public library. She was involved with the local Democrat Party and Friends of the Library. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church and the Legion of Mary. She liked to travel and was a sports fan. But above all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
