Gary L. Van De Pol, 66, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Thursday July 30, 2020 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 8th at 3:00 PM Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Friday August 7th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Laufersweiler Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife Carla of Fort Dodge, son Jesse (Brandy) Smith of Newton, daughters Michele Van De Pol and Jessie Van De Pol both of Fort Dodge, 4 grandchildren Nathan, Makayla, Lindyn and Chariah, brothers Keith (Helen Jean) Van De Pol of Missoula, MT, Bob Van De Pol of Ames, Denny Van De Pol of Phoenix, AZ, sisters Janelle (Tom) Sullivan of Gilbert, AZ, Carol Range of Webster City and Deanne (Kelly) Popp of Roland.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dennis and Darlene (Maifeld) Van De Pol and his brother Tom Van De Pol.
Gary Lynn Van De Pol was born on November 14, 1953 in Dubuque. He was raised and educated in Stanhope, graduating from South Hamilton High School in 1971. He then attended and graduated from Kirkwood College in Cedar Rapids with an Associate of Arts Degree in dental restoration. In 1979, he was united in marriage to Nancy Schultz and the couple were later divorced. Gary worked at and later became the owner of Mitchell Dental Lab for over 40 years until his retirement in 2019. On June 18, 1995 he was united in marriage to Carla Branum and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and playing with his dogs. Gary adored his family especially time spent with his grandchildren.
