Charles "Chuck" J. Peters, 77, of Rochester, MN died Friday August 28, 2020 at Saint Marys Hospital.
Charles John Peters was born September 14, 1942 to William and Edna (Villwock) Peters in Witchita, KS. At a young age his family moved to Red Wing, MN and later moving to Rochester, MN. He married Janice Distad on October 21, 1961 in Rochester, MN. He worked for Crenlo, International Transport and Clark Gas Station in Rochester and later owned and operated Sign Design of Rochester. After his retirement, the couple moved to Waterville, MN and back to Rochester in 2016. He enjoyed boating, NASCAR, golfing, and attending horse shows with his children.
There will be a private family memorial service. A public memorial service will be held at a later date.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Janice Peters of Rochester, MN; daughter, Terri (Jim) Pitcher of Rochester, MN; son, Matthew Peters of Napa, CA; three grandchildren, Matthew (Katie) Helgerson, Tyler Helgerson (Franny Armstead) and Michael (Victoria) Helgerson; three great-grandchildren, Helen, Nick, and Abigail; and three sisters, Janet, Mary Jo and Nancy Jo. He was preceded in death by his parents.
