Patricia Ann Martens
August 4, 1931 - August 29, 2020

Williamsburg-Patricia Ann Martens was born August 4, 1931 near Oxford, Iowa. The daughter of Willie and Tillie (Feyerbend) Schropp. She attended school in Oxford and graduated from Parnell High School. Pat was united in marriage to Robert E. Martens on September 11, 1951 in Marengo. She was a homemaker raising their children and worked at the Marengo Hospital and later worked at Amana Refrigeration for 11 years. She enjoyed reading, working in her flower gardens, fishing, baking and watching her grandchildren at home in their activities. Pat was a member of the First Lutheran Church north of Conroy. Pat passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at the Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg at the age of 89.

She is survived by four children, Marilyn Kehnemann of Iowa City, Glen (Sylesta) Martens of Wellman, Gene Martens of Durango, CO and Jane (Steve) Knock of Williamsburg; 8 grandchildren, Justin (Noel) Knock, Tara (Eric) Albarran, Jamie (Kurt McAvoy) Knock, Kyle (Linda) Drake, Taci (Steven) Frantz, Kimberly (Richard) Cervantes, Britni Billen, Arissa (Logan) Moeller; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; a brother, Dean (Fran) Schropp of Williamsburg, special twin sister, Shirley Meade of Holbrook and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert in 1974, a son Gary Martens and 2 brothers, Willie Schropp and Lloyd Schropp.

Celebration of Life Service will be 6:00 pm on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at the First Lutheran Cemetery north of Conroy. A general memorial fund has been established. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
