James Jerry Prater, Sr.
November 22, 1943 - August 31, 2020

James Jerry Prater Sr. "Pahoot", age 76, of Sharps Chapel, TN lost the battle with Lung and Bone Cancer on August 31st, 2020. He is preceded in death by Mother, Onalee and father Joseph along with sisters, Joanne and Judy. He was a loving daddy, papap, brother, uncle, and best friend to many. Survived by daughter, Krista "Kitty" Anderson, and Grandchildren, Kaitlyn "Hot Rod", Nicholas Lothrop "Thunder" and Zachary Colwell "Scoot Poot", sister, Dee "sissy", as well as many nieces and nephews along with many friends. The family would like to extend many thanks to Jama Proffitt "Jam", Jeff Anderson "Big Guy", J.B. Anderson and Betty "Betty Boop", Ginger and Brian Evans, and "cheezy", Robin Bryant and Bob Polk, and Lost Creek RV Park for their special love and support. Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of life on Saturday, October, 24th at Chilhowee Park in Knoxville at the Gazebo area from 1-3pm. Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Prater family and invites you to view and sign the online registry.

"I have fond memories of my cousin Jerry. I remember being a kid and he and his sisters would be playing records over and over in the house. i always thought that was so cool. i remember him as a young person, working, and he had a new car! It was a beautiful aqua mercury. He was always the same over the years. I will miss him. Love, Susie"
